Key message
Neutral

Large majority of registered cars still use conventional fuels (petrol and diesel). Although the total share of all alternative propulsion vehicles increased slightly from 2014 to 2019, it remains statistically insignificant. A comparison of the results of the public opinion survey regarding the type of fuel used by cars that households intend to purchase, and data on the first registration of new passenger cars revealed that the share of households that plan to purchase an alternative propulsion vehicle significantly exceeds the share of first registrations of alternative propulsion vehicles. This means that households face limitations when implementing their plans related to the purchase of alternative propulsion cars.
